About us
The mission of the Healthy Stomach Initiative is to bring awareness to medical professionals & the general population on Stomach Health and preventive care.
History
Many of the world’s leading experts in gastroenterology have long recognized the importance of raising awareness about stomach health, preventive care, and new research. What began as informal discussions among key opinion leaders evolved into a global collaboration, and in 2012 the Healthy Stomach Initiative (H S I) was officially founded and registered as a non-profit society in Germany
The initiative was conceived by Professor Dr. Peter Malfertheiner, who not only initiated the collaboration but also guided its formal legal establishment. Together with colleagues Francis Megraud, Francesco Di Mario and Richard Hunt, he shaped and directed H S I’s activities across the globe. H S I has organized meetings at all major GI congresses and public forums worldwide, steadily expanding its reach and impact.
Today, the Healthy Stomach Initiative unites more than 150 gastroenterologists from over 80 countries, working collectively to advance knowledge, advocacy and global awareness of stomach health.
